Migrating from INZone
INZone has been the immigration-specific incumbent for many Canadian practices. Migration paths are well-established and can be executed with minimal disruption.
Data landscape
INZone stores clients, cases, documents, forms, and case notes in a proprietary structure. Our migration tooling maps each of these to the ImmPilot equivalent. Forms are converted to structured intake data plus attached form PDFs.
Getting an export
INZone provides a per-account export on request. Contact their support with a formal export request; delivery typically takes 5–10 business days. The export is delivered as a ZIP containing CSVs and a document folder.
The migration pass
Our onboarding team runs the migration for you as part of the standard onboarding included with the Practice plan. You provide the INZone export; we run the import, produce a validation report, and hand back a working workspace.
What needs your attention
Case notes migrate as structured notes. Notes older than 24 months are commonly consolidated into a single 'Historical notes' entry per case to keep the timeline clean. This is optional but recommended.
Training the team
The single biggest migration risk from INZone is muscle memory. Budget two 45-minute team training sessions and a two-week 'go slow' period where the team is encouraged to prefer clarity over speed.
Cutover
New cases open in ImmPilot from cutover. Existing cases either finish in INZone or are individually migrated. Full retirement typically 60–120 days after cutover.
