Team & Permissions

Roles and permissions

How the four built-in roles map to real practice responsibilities, and how to extend them.

Every user in a workspace is assigned exactly one role. Roles are additive — higher roles receive every permission of the lower roles plus additional capabilities.

Administrator

Full access to every workspace setting, billing, team management, and audit logs. Only administrators can invite new administrators or change subscription plans. In most practices there are two administrators — the principal RCIC and the operations lead.

RCIC

Full case authority: can create, edit, close, and sign off on any case. Has authority over document classification, program selection, and submission. Every case must have exactly one owning RCIC.

Paralegal

Operational authority: can perform intake, request documents, draft submissions, and manage client communication under an assigned RCIC's supervision. Cannot approve final submissions.

Staff

Administrative and support tasks: intake scheduling, billing, and general client communication. Cannot access legal case content.

Custom permissions

On the Practice plan, individual permissions can be granted or revoked at the user level to fit non-standard team structures. Contact your success manager to enable custom permission profiles.
