Document requirements and completeness

How the platform tracks what a case needs and when it is ready to submit.

Every case has a set of required documents drawn from its template. Requirements can be mandatory, conditional (required only in certain circumstances), or optional. The case cannot advance to Review until all mandatory requirements are satisfied.

Conditional requirements

Some documents are only required based on client circumstances — a marriage certificate for spousal sponsorship, a police certificate for each country the client has lived in for more than six months. Conditional requirements are enabled by answers on the intake questionnaire.

Completeness view

The Documents tab on every case shows a completeness view: a checklist of every required document, its current status (missing, uploaded, classified, verified), and who is responsible for it. This is the single view your paralegals live in during preparation.

Client-facing checklist

The client sees a simplified version of this checklist in their portal — only the documents they need to provide, in plain language, with clear specifications.
